ICYMI: Social Media Minute | Week 3 Round Up

Hello everyone! It’s that time again – the Social Media Minute. I’ve rounded up a couple things you may have missed the last two weeks – enjoy!

  • Face Swap Strikes Again: This time it was not as bad as the Amy G/Gregor Blanco train wreck in our last edition of ICYMI. Brandon Crawford’s bobblehead day was on Saturday and because social media is the worst/best, here’s a face swap that was done between human Brandon Crawford and bobblehead Brandon Crawford:

  • Brandon Belt wants to break a bat like Jeff Samardzija: We found out that Sharks’s are pretty good at breaking bats over their knees, especially when angry. Apparently this caused some curiosity in the clubhouse with Brandon Belt who is looking to do the same at some point. His most recent blog covers the tips Samardzija gave him, the story of how he broke his first bat (not over his knee, and also, not noticed by anyone). He seems to want to remain injury-free though, as this is his plan to snap the bat over his knee in the future:

Maybe the next time I crack a bat at the plate – I mean when the bat is good and cracked, like almost dangling – I’ll finish it off by snapping it over my knee.

  • Tim Flannery is loving retirement: The Giants had a doozey of a game on Thursday, giving up THIRTEEN runs in a half inning. As they were trying to chip away at the score, Roberto Kelly made a questionable decision to send notoriously slow Buster Posey home on a Brandon Crawford single to right – who was inevitably gunned down by Carlos Gonzalez. I guess he was getting a lot of tweets inquiring about Kelly’s choices because he tweeted out this epic troll job:

That’s what I have for you this week. Tune in for the next Giants weekend home stand for more ICYMI Social Media Minute content!
